Why Baraka Body Exists

Baraka Body is based in Underwood on Brisbane’s Southside, within the peaceful setting of Onyx Gallery. Surrounded by art, the space reflects our belief that healing and movement can feel calm, thoughtful, and supportive. The studio itself is quiet, private, and air-conditioned, with reformer Pilates and strength equipment ready for personalised sessions.

Baraka is an Arabic word meaning “divine blessing” that is an increase in goodness, growth, and abundance. That meaning sits at the heart of everything we do.

Baraka Body was created from a deep awareness that women’s health is often misunderstood or under-supported and that for many women, especially Muslim women, traditional healthcare spaces can feel uncomfortable or inaccessible. Too often, women are left navigating pain, symptoms, and uncertainty on their own, without culturally sensitive care or clear guidance they can trust

This space exists to bridge that gap.

Baraka Body is a commitment to providing women with movement-based healthcare that is not only evidence-based, but also private, respectful, inclusive, and compassionate. A space where modesty is honoured. Where your background is respected. Where your symptoms are taken seriously. And where you don’t need to choose between receiving quality care and feeling culturally safe.

At its core, Baraka Body is about restoring trust, trust in healthcare, trust in movement, and trust in your own body. It’s about empowering women with knowledge, strength, and support, so they feel confident seeking care and reclaiming their wellbeing at any stage of life.

Get to know your Exercise Physiologist

I graduated in 2024 with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology, but my journey into women’s health began long before my degree.

As a teenager, I experienced ongoing lower back pain that sparked a deep curiosity about movement and the body. At the time, I didn’t fully understand what was happening or where to turn for support, but the experience gently shaped the path I would eventually follow.

Growing up as a Middle Eastern woman also showed me how important privacy, comfort, and cultural understanding can be when it comes to accessing healthcare. Those experiences stayed with me and gradually grew into a desire to create a space where women can feel truly at ease seeking support and guidance for their health.

Over time, curiosity became purpose. I wanted to understand how movement could help women feel stronger, more confident, and more connected to their bodies. Becoming an Exercise Physiologist gave me the knowledge and tools to do that, and shaped the way I support the women I work with today.

I believe every woman deserves to feel listened to, respected, and supported with care that feels safe, individualised, and empowering. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, guided by empathy, and focused on helping you build strength, confidence, and trust in your body at every stage of life.

Baraka Body is here to support you through every stage of your journey, with care that feels:
